Chasing Tradition is a project that I have been working on since 2009.  I have used old yearbooks, newspapers, my memory, and personal accounts to come up with a time line of Truckee Football’s great tradition.  I tried to do my best to represent each season with as much information as I could.  From a kid who grew up in Truckee craving to play football and from a person who has been very close to Truckee Football for four decades, I did my best to have a neutral perspective.  If I am not including things that you recall or my facts are off, please feel free to let me know. This is an opportunity for many to recall and share their football memories being a Wolverine.  My hope is for those from the past to catch up with the present and for the present to reach back into the past and find out just how rich our history is.  I enjoyed this project and will continue to enjoy it as it grows.  I want to thank everyone who has participated in the project and getting all of this information out for all to enjoy.

Thank You,

Josh Ivens

That was AWESOME! I relived the 83′ championship, the 80’s seasons and felt so reconnected!
I had no idea this was here, or who the author was when I was reading it. Such a great piece of work bud. Thank you for that. You are very talented. Anyway, have a great season, my son graduated but I plan to come out and root for YOU dude. Big shoes to fill and your gonna do it man. We are proud of you, you are a REAL Truckee kid stepping up. I haven’t read the 50’s-70’s but I don’t think this has happened. Let’s see: Broliar, Cunningham, Deschler, Estabrook, ………. Uhhhh nope DUDE, you’re the first Truckee kid to head coach this team! And you ARE gonna win the big one! Nice work! You can tell I have Truckee Pride, and you woke it up… Hail to the victors val…. Ok ok.
Take care, and thanks again, great job… You write very well.
